ALEX ESCOBAR
PITCHING COACH (1ST YEAR)
Alex joins the Fort McMurray Giants coaching staff in 2024 after a successful collegiate playing career.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Alex spent five years pitching at the collegiate level. After graduating Central Catholic High School, he pitched for the Reedley College Tigers in Reedley, California for two seasons, starting 20 Games and accumulating over 120 Innings Pitched. He then transferred to McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas where he competed for three season for the Bulldogs. Alex combined to throw over 245 Innings while in a Bulldogs uniform and holds the All-Time McPherson College Wins Record (19). He ended his collegiate career apart of the first-ever KCAC Championship in McPherson College baseball team history. While at McPherson, Alex pitched under current Wichita Wind Surge (Minnesota Twins, AA-Affiliate) Pitching Coach, DJ Engle and Great Falls Voyageurs (Independent League) Pitching Coach, Pete Horner.
Alex spent two Summers playing collegiate summer baseball, in 2022 he made the move to the East Coast to join the High Point Thomasville HiToms of the prestigious Coastal Plains League before joining the Fort McMurray Giants after his Senior Year in 2023.
Alex is originally from Ceres, California.
