Become a GIANTS Billet family
Hosting Fort McMurray Giants baseball players is a tradition amongst college baseball communities across North America and a necessity to continue building a championship team. The Giants will recruit talented baseball players from across Canada and the United States to live in our community of Fort McMurray during a summer season spanning from late May to late August.
As a Giants Billet Family, you provide a "home away from home" for a player who wants to spend their summer training, playing, and volunteering in the Fort McMurray community. In return, you get to build a relationship with a young man with whom you would have never had the chance and hopefully create an experience together that neither will forget.
Expectations of our Billet Families
The WCBL schedule begins in the last week of May and ends in the middle of August (depending on the WCBL Playoffs). It includes 56 games over approximately two and a half months, including 28 home games. When at home, players will generally be at Legacy Dodge Field and/or MacDonald Island Park from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Provide suitable housing accommodations for your player(s), including their own private living space, the ability to use laundry facilities (for personal use; Giants Staff washes team apparel), access to bathroom facilities, and WiFi access.
- Cooking for players is not required; however, you must ensure food is readily available so they can make their meals and snacks.
- The team will arrange transportation to all practices and games. However, it is always appreciated if you can transport your player.
- Billet Families are expected to set house rules for their player(s) and monitor their behaviour like any other household member. We expect billeting a Fort McMurray Giant to be a positive experience for all parties involved.

To open your arms and doors to one (or more) of our Giants players, you will be compensated $500 per month (per player) during the WCBL season. Not to mention some of the other perks that include:

EXPECTATIONS OF OUR GIANTS PLAYERS
Our Fort McMurray Giants players are expected to be exemplary members of their billet families and the community. They are to respect all household rules, clean up, do their laundry, and assist with anything required while spending time with their billet family. They are to positively impact the lives of the family they spend their summer season with!
