2024 Giants Schedule Released

Fort McMurray, Alberta - The Fort McMurray Giants as apart of the Western Canadian Baseball League are thrilled to announced their full 2024 Season Schedule. The Giants are coming off of a record breaking 2023 season which saw the team tie, break and set the all-time franchise wins record at 30. The Giants comprised of players from across Canada and the United States ended their season at the hands of the eventual champion, Okotoks Dawgs in the WCBL Conference Semi-Finals. 

This upcoming season, the Giants will look to continue to improve on last year's record breaking performance as they take on another 56 game WCBL season. This years slate featuring 28 home games all played at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place including Opening Day 2024 (May 24th vs. Edmonton Prospects), Canada Day (July 1st vs. Brooks Bombers) as well as a Fort McMurray staple in Métis Day (July 12th vs. Saskatoon Berries). 

The Western Canadian Baseball Leagues commitment to competition is enhanced this upcoming season as they introduce a new scheduling format highlighting inter-divisional play and rivalry games. Fort McMurray will take on West Division Rivals, the Sylvan Lake Gulls and Edmonton Prospects ten times, while playing fellow West Division foes, the Brooks Bombers, Lethbridge Bulls and Okotoks Dawgs eight times. In addition, East Division opponents will rotate home and away series annually beginning this Summer. The Giants will play host to the Regina Red Sox, Saskatoon Berries and Weyburn Beavers at Legacy Dodge Field in 2024.

In 2024, the whole community is going to feel the buzz of the Giants as upgrades continue at Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place including a finished Press Box, New Swag Shop, Party Decks, New Food and Beverages, Special Events, Themed Nights and much more!
